World real-time weather maps using Google Gmaps API
The Google Gmaps API is very powerfull and easy to easy to use. Here is an example of weather data mapping.
The data come from the weather stations (mainly airports) around the world. These are real-time data that let you know
what's the temperature in various towns or countries.
If you plan to travel shortly, this map can help you choose the right destinations(!).
How to use this map
- Enter a "town,country" destination, click "Go" and the map will center on this town, showing you the nearest weather stations (colored markers).
- Place the pointer on a marker and the weather information will popup (temperature and wind speed/direction).
- The controls in the top left corner let you zoom in/out or choose a different map type.
- Click anywhere on the map and the nearest stations will appear. The map will also re-center on the clicked location.
- The colors of the markers are related to the temperatures. Blue/Purple are for low temperatures and orange/reds are for high temperatures.
